Breakfast after noon near Bang Tao and Surin: where all-day breakfast really means all day
Holiday sleep doesn't follow kitchen schedules. At NIMA Cafe in Cherngtalay, the whole breakfast list — English breakfast, shakshuka, omelette, avocado toast, oatmeal and pancakes — is served from 10:00 until 19:00, every day except Thursday. Plates are 169–279 ฿. We open at 10:00 (not for early risers) and we are closed every Thursday.
Why is late breakfast hard to find near Bang Tao?
Some kitchens on this coast switch to a lunch menu late in the morning. A lot of small cafés close in the late afternoon. So if your day starts at noon — jet lag, a late night, a baby who finally slept, a long surf session — you can end up eating a lunch you didn't want just because the eggs stopped at eleven.
We just don't split the day. The breakfast list is on from opening to closing, and no one in the kitchen will raise an eyebrow at a shakshuka order at half past four.
What's on the all-day breakfast list?
The full list with photos is on our menu page. Here's what's always on:
- English Breakfast — 279 ฿. Two eggs, chicken sausages, chicken bacon, baked beans, grilled tomato, mushrooms, hash brown, toast. Everything we serve is halal — the sausages and bacon are chicken. More detail in the halal full English, explained.
- Shakshuka — 269 ฿. Eggs poached in spiced tomato and pepper sauce, feta, herbs, toasted bread with butter. Spice level on request: mild, medium or hot. Read what shakshuka actually is if you haven't tried it before.
- Avocado Toast — 249 ฿. Sourdough, smashed avocado, poached egg, lime, chili flakes. Simple, but the sourdough matters.
- Omelette — 169 ฿. Three eggs, side salad, toast. Add vegetables +20 ฿, mushrooms +25 ฿, cheese +25 ฿, chicken +30 ฿. Build it how you like.
- Oatmeal with Berries — 169 ฿. Creamy oats, strawberries and mixed berries, banana, honey. The one that doesn't feel heavy at midday.
- Pancakes — 189 ฿ classic or 199 ฿ chocolate. Three fluffy pancakes. Classic comes with berries or banana, maple syrup and butter. Chocolate gets warm chocolate sauce, chocolate chips, mini marshmallows and cocoa dust.
- Egg, Chicken Ham & Cheese Croissant — 189 ฿. Butter croissant, soft omelette, halal chicken ham, melted cheddar. The one-hand breakfast.
You can also add a fried egg to almost anything for +20 ฿, or fries for +40 ฿ if the English breakfast alone isn't doing it.

What does brunch for two actually cost?
Our typical spend is 250–400 ฿ per person, VAT included. A few real combinations, at menu prices:
- The big table: English breakfast (279 ฿) and shakshuka (269 ฿), with a flat white each (99 ฿).
- The lighter pair: avocado toast (249 ฿) and an omelette with cheese (169 ฿, cheese +25 ฿), plus an iced latte (119 ฿) and a fresh orange juice (119 ฿).
- The protein pair: two omelettes with chicken (169 ฿ each, chicken +30 ฿) and two iced Americanos (99 ฿ each).
Add a plate of pancakes to share at the end and it's 189 ฿ or 199 ฿ more. The bakery counter — croissants, brownies, cinnamon twists — starts at 39 ฿ if you want something small alongside your coffee.
What to drink with a late breakfast?
Coffee runs from 69 ฿ for an espresso to 139 ฿ for a caramel macchiato. A flat white is 99 ฿, an iced latte 119 ฿. If you're not in a coffee mood — and at noon in this heat, that's reasonable — the fresh juices are 119 ฿ each: orange, apple, pineapple, carrot, all squeezed to order. Fruit shakes start at 99 ฿. Oat milk is available on any milk drink for +35 ฿.
The matcha bar is worth a look too. An iced orange matcha at 129 ฿ next to a shakshuka is a better pairing than it sounds. The full drinks picture is in the coffee and matcha guide.
Breakfast at 17:00 — is that strange?
Not here. Late afternoon is actually one of the nicer times to eat: the beach is done, the room is cool, and eggs at five feel like a small holiday crime worth committing. The kitchen is the same kitchen, the eggs are the same eggs.
Just know that we close at 19:00, so "breakfast for dinner" means an early dinner — come in with enough time to eat it properly.

Vegetarian and lighter options
Avocado toast, oatmeal and the plain omelette are all vegetarian. Shakshuka too — no meat in the base, though feta is in there. The omelette add-ons let you keep it fully vegetable: mushrooms and cheese, for instance. Oat milk on any drink. We're not a dedicated vegetarian kitchen, but there's enough here that you won't be stuck. More on that in the vegetarian and plant-based guide for Bang Tao.
And early mornings?
Being straight about it: we open at 10:00. If you need eggs at 7:00 before a boat trip or an early flight to Bangkok, we're not your place that morning. The airport is about 20 km away — roughly 25 minutes — so a pre-flight breakfast here only works if your flight is in the afternoon.
The Thursday trap
Many small places on this coast take one fixed day off a week. Ours is Thursday. It catches people out more than you'd expect — especially if you're planning a lazy Thursday brunch after a busy Wednesday night. Check before you come. If it is Thursday, we'll see you Friday from 10:00.
The rest of the week — Friday through Wednesday — the kitchen is on from 10:00 to 19:00 without a break. No separate breakfast hours, no "sorry, we've switched to lunch." Just the full menu, all day.
